Default unusual tyre wear

My rear tyre has worn flat in the centre in a short time (3k miles). Its as if it was very over inflated and rode in a straight line. I dont allways acelerate hardand i dont overuse the rearbrake. The centre tread has gone but the side is stillat 6mm.The tyre isa soft Bridgestone.I like to ride with 'reverse steering' to lean over, could this have caused the wear pattern? some one suggested lower than specified tyre pressures?

Depending upon the type of Bridgestone and style of riding, it's not unreasonable for significant wear down the middle. Doyou commute alot? Mostlystraight roads; interstate perhaps? May want a harder tire if you're more of a commuter-type than a sporty type.

+1, commuting on soft rubber will wear down that center fast, it's a trade-off. DO you want to buy tires more often, and have stickier rubber? Or do you want to buy them less and have a little less stickiness? I don't think that those are actual words...but you get my drift

plus if youre riding in a straight line most of the time you prob wont even notice the change in traction, the softs are more track oriented.
