I DON'T KNOW THE EXACT SOUND YOU'RE DISCRIBING BUT TO ANSWER SIMPLY, YES. ALL BIKES HAVE AT LEAST A LITTLE BIT OF A "CLUNK" GOING INTO FIRST. I'VE FOUND DOUBLE CLUTCHING HELPS OUT A LITTLE BIT.

Is this the same question from the other day? Yes, just like AHUFFY said. No, they do not break, it's a good bike. Just make sure the oil and everything is Ok.

YES!! the ZX6d, ZX6e, and ZZR600 (all the same bike) have always been known for "clunky" trannys and weak 2nd gears, it smooths out considerably if you shift when you are on the throttle hard

I have noticed that...... It looks like these bikes were made for the rider to be on the throttle hard most of the time...... What do you mean by week 2nd gears....do theybrake a lot or the ratio of 2ndis week....

I think he means the ratio, and I agree about being on the throttle, mod it up and ride it the way it wants to br ridden

no, I mean they have weak 2nd gears, they are known to go out, well not out, but they will pop out of 2nd (this is mostly on abused bikes though) my bike has around 50k miles and 2nd is still good, but I have heard of bikes with less miles with 2nd gear probs, but on the other hand, I have heard of bikes with much more miles with no probs.

Sounds like it'll be ok as long as we take care of our bikes then

It has popped out of 2nd gear on me before but I know that at the time it popped out I didn’t stuff the gear all the way.... That might be a reason for them popping out..... I do believe that these trannys need to be jammed all the way..... I just took my friends R1 for a ride and that tranny is smooth but it feels like it's made out of plastic..... Fast as hell but still like my Saki more.... just seems to me that the Sakies have more quality in them.... even the kick stand on the R1 felt like garbage....

I have just upgraded from a Katana 750, and find the zzr600, shifts way easier and smoother than the suzuki, so far. Only have 800 miles on it though.
