New Seat Wanted
Fellow ZRX Riders,
I am looking for a replacement seat from my 04 ZRX. Unfortunately, I do not have $400 USD to put into a Sargent and/or Corbon. Any ideas where I might find one at a reasonable cost? Please feel free to send me an email at my yahoo account. Thanks.

As long as you have a good seat "pan" you could either re-foam and re-cover it yourself (if you're handy with tools and have shop air-staple gun,) or take off the existing vinyl, replace foam (electric carving knives work fantastic) and take to an upholstery shop. Select your vinyl (marine grade is advised) or leather (pricey and weather-fragile, but very cool) and have them staple it on. It likely will not have the "finished look" of a Sargent or Corbin, but if you aren't picky, it will work just as well. I speak from experience.
...and, welcome to the Forums!! Let us know what you choose. Ask to see some examples of their work at the upholstery shop, before you turn them loose. There are also some musicians out there who re-cover speaker cabinet vinyl. If they have done any of the vintage, pleated Peavey or Kustom cabinets (yeah; remember THOSE?) they could certainly do a bike seat. Just don't let them use the old Peavey green sparkle vinyl.
