a few questions about zrx's really want to buy one
hello i really want to buy a zrx1200 (in the spring) so first where would be the best place to look i would like to purchase one before any of the riding season is used up i live in michigan.
second what are they pros and cons to zrx's
any notable mechanical problems, any particular years that had a big improvement (i really want a 2001 or newer to get the 1200)
how will a zrx compare performance wise to an r6 (my brother has one) Will one or the other be alot faster or about the same or would one be quicker and first then the other be quicker thanks.

RE: a few questions about zrx's really want to buy one
it all depends on how much extra tuning the rex has, in stock form the rex is very mild mannered, so you should be able to take the r6 from stop light to the next stop light, so long as its not an mile away
install and pipe and jet kit and timing advancer, and the rex comes to life then the r6 will not catch the rex until you well over 120mph, the rex has twice the torque the r6 has ans using it to your advantage will produce some frowns on the 6, with the body work the 6 will finally catch you do to aerodymanics, if the rex had body work the 6 would be toast period, with some other mods, zzr 1200 cams, zzr cdi box and double row valve springs you will be in the 140 rear wheel HP numbers and the 6 is toast to 150 mph
taking into account rider weight, if your 150 lbs heavier than the r6 ride that will make big difference
this is all straight line
in the twisty curves the heavier rex will be at some disadvantage to the lighter 6 but the torque of the rex when used well wil give the 6 fits, he wont get away from you if you have skills to lean the rex
just an pic for you
