Just running things thru my skull...Will a zx10 motor "bolt in" to my '03 z1000?Or what hyper motor will?Hmmm...I'm just needing more than the mild cams, and gearing will do.I'm pretty much broke,so my resources are few.Trying a 45 tooth rear today, tho'.We'll just have to see...

since the motor in your z1000 is a zx9 i doubtthat the zx10would bolt right in. although if u are looking for more performance like i am. this is what i have done so far.i have a 04 z1000 that will run with most bikes.i put a 4 into 1 header off a zx9, yoshimura pipe, power commander,kn air filter and several other cosmedic upgrades. 1st gear is nuts can't keep the front end down and still comes up just under power in 2nd gear. i have had the speedo say 170+ on long high speed runs. just for comperisan i have a buddy that has a stock zx14 and he can bearly pull me around town, but on the highway over 100 he just keeps pulling. so i still need to make mine faster. i'm thinking cams is about the last think i can do without tearing the motor down. if u have any more suggestions please let me know.

I doubt the ZX10 engine will fit but the injectors from the ZX10 will fit like a glove on the Z1000![Smile](https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
The Z1000 have 38mm injectors and the ZX10 have 41mm injectors and different nozzles for better fuel atomization.Plug in a set of cams from a 97-99 ZX9 more duration and use the lighter flywheel from the ZX9 with a Power Commander and a 4-1 you should easily have around 160-170HP enjoy

I lucked out on ebay I just won a complete 02 ZX9R head with camshafts.
I didn't realize the ZX9 was down draft and the Z1000 was side draft?
Would this make a big difference?
I read a really good article about how a shop did some work on a 99 ZX9R with awesome results.
Here is the link enjoy, hopefully this will apply to our Z1000's as well![Smile](https://www.kawasakiforums.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
