oil starvation?
whitehendrix might be able to answer this, i'm not sure of too many others here that spend a lot of time on one wheel. but i've been wondering about running the engine dry of oil in a LOOONG *** wheelie. i know a guy who blew up his R1 that way. do people add length to their oil pickup and bend it back? i've heard of just tossing another quart of oil in it too. i am REALLY hoping to actually attempt to stunt my bike this year and i kind of want her 1/2 way prepared. any info would be great

well i did a bit of searching and lurking. the guys at www.stuntlife.com are well...amazing. there is alot of reading in this link but alot of great info. he mentioned no names, but i will give him props. thank you very much! i WILL be the guy in the parking lot trying to learn to do basic stunts on my own. i don't know of any people in my area that are doing this kinda thing, so the info i do get from them is greatly appreciated and i thought i would pass it along. cheers

Oil: Many bikes will become oil starved when riding long wheelies, and doing 12 o-clock wheelies. Gixxers and cbr 900s ('93-'95 893cc model) are the most notorious for this. To keep the bike from becoming oil starved, either move the oil pickup in the oil pan back, or overfill the oil. Myself and some others on this forum run 1 quart over. Overfilling doesn't seem to cause any problems with hondas, but I have read of problems with gixxers as a result of this. So the best thing for a gixxer would probably be to fix the oil pickup. You can buy modified oil pickups for gixxers from www.stuntex.com
