I am looking for anyone with experience converting an '05 ZX6R to GP (reverse) shifting pattern. I am curious if there is a dealer that sells a kit for it or can you do it with stock parts and slight modifications? In return I can offer some experience with some other mods I have already done myself; i.e. Two Brothers exhaust, Power Commander PCIII USB, Ohlins steering dampener, Vortex rearset, 520 conversion (-1, +2), K&N filter, quick disconnect for license plate lights/ rear signals, safety wiring. I may also need a peer intervention because I am totally addicted to trackdays. They are better than any recreational chemical substance I have ever come across.

 

I have woodcraft rear sets, and all you have to do for GP shift is swap the shifter part upside down. It is probably the same with your vortex rears. Also you say 520 conversion, but our bikes come with a 520 chain stock so you really didn't convert anything. The part at the end of the shift lever, where the black rubber piece is, just flip that so it is on top instead of the bottom.

 

hey zerotanz, instead of disconnecting all that stuff why dont you just pull the fuses in the tail?

 

All you have to do is put the shifter upside down unbolt it pull it off and flip it the other way and put it back on
