Need advice....Please help!
Hello to all,
I want to thank you for reading this as I really do need some help with the direction I am going. I have ridden a 2003 Z1000 for a year and put 15k on it without ever seeing a track. Living in central California I was fortunate to ride the dream spots (Pacific Coast Highway, Napa Valley, Monterey to La, ect..) That is the extent of my experience. This ended in March 2007 where I began working overseas and cannot ride a bike. I will be home in April/May and have the time and a small amount of money to get on a track, somehow, some way and live my dream. I am however a beefy 29? pounds and am really working on losing the weight but will be 280 when I arrive at home. I want to buy a sportbike and I feel that the 2005-06 ZX-6R would be more than enough to learn on forafew years. I read the forums, books and I know a 636 is alot but I am like 2 up by myself and dont want to get walked on. I was offered a deal on a 2002 RC51 but wouldnt this be way too much for a new to the track guy? So here is my question. Does a 636 sound like the best bike for me?Also, where is the best place for a big guy to get leathers? I only see Joe rocket making "Big Boy" sizes! I wear like a 54 in Rocket and I have baggy knees to fit in the waist. Is this safe as long as the sliders are in the correct location? Am I out of my legue for chasing this dream? Please help me sort this out! Thanks for your time, It is appreciated.

always chase the dreams
you may have to get leathers tailored to fit correctly. but as long as you continue to lose weight they will always be able to remove more material to make them fit.
the 636 should be a great bike for you - it has a little more low end than the 6r which will help. enjoy and be safe.

I would get a ZX10. It gives you a lot of room to grow and is about the biggest bike you will need for a track. You already ride a 1000CC bike. It is only a few more lbs heavier but in a year you wont have to worry about trading the thing in. Th ZX10 also comes with a steering dampner as well. Pretty much a similiar bike as the 636 but more power. If you were just stuntung I would say go for the 636 but for track the ZX10 is the way to go.

I have thought alot about this. I am very "easy" on the power delivery of my z1000 and really do like always having a little power in reserve. I know the 10 is a different beast all together. Maybe this is best....How did you adapt to the 14? What were you on before? Are you pretty light on the pegs?
