RE: King-Cold.com WheelDock Group Buy!
Please don't be scared to transport you bike, just be careful. It takes some practice to realize how much tension you need in the straps. I've transported my R1 without a WheelDock in the past. You want to have a little compression & rebound in the suspension, so don't tighten them down too hard. Its better to have looser straps that you check more frequently on your trip than to tighten your bike all the way down and not worry about it until you get to your destination.

ok thanks... i just got a set of ramps so this transporting is new to me... so looser is better than tighter... good to know... You just dont want to keep alot of pressure on the fork seals... ok... thanks alot. if i had the money and transported my bike alot id probably get one of those wheel docks....

Be sure to watch the video on the King-Cold.com WheelDock page, its very informative...

The good people at the WheelDock Co. put that together and I think it could possibly answer alot of questions, and also lets you see the WheelDock in action. Warning- you need Flash to view it, you can download it from a link on the page.

quite imformative,
Questions:
I can see myself tripping over the trailer mounts (and the levers for that matter). Any flush mounts available? To sit in tracks in the trailer or something like that?
Can a rear stand be placed on the ride for work while the ride is in the stand? ie spool stands or swingarm stand. I do not see an issue with the layout, just asking.

Actually, there was a recent redesign of the WheelDock models, and you no longer need the transport bar. The transport bar is good for people like stunt riders who'd be installing and removing the unit frequently during the course of a day. The new unit bolts to the floor with a system of flush mounting bolts and hardware that doesn't stick up when the unit is removed- so the transport bar is an option now.
You can put a rear stand on while the bike is in the dock, but it depends on how how high the stand raises the reat end and how low your plastics go on the front end. The front tire is fixed but the forks can rotate about the front "axle." Most stock setups can tolerate the use of a wheelstand without plastics touching. If you've got some super custom front work- you MAY be in trouble. I can't say for sure without seeing it. Most of my experience says a wheelstand is no problem.
I feel the $50 Rebate is fine for individual purchases, retail plus shipping will run you $350- but if any one person wants to buy multiple units- of course I'm willing to deal. I'm trying to get the word out on this great product.

Hope that was helpful.
