Nice progress for sure wh. I normally paint parts while they are hanging though and not while holding onto them! lol How do you like your motion pro carb synch?

THAT is one nice bike, and one nice post, Jim. There's something about being up close and personal with (damn near) every nut and bolt on your own bike. It's like it takes on a "life" you gave it.
I'd stay with the polished frame, too. Just give it a monthly/bi-monthly quick buff with Never Dull wadding, and you're good to go.
Thanks for sharing the "gestation" pics with us. Once again; NICE job, dude.

Just put on a clear coat over the polished aluminum to keep the oxidation from happening. Of course, that could not be done on an exhaust but for the frame components, it works.

BTW: Did you fab the replacement plates for the emissions attachments on the valve cover? I could use some for my 89, they are corked, lol

thanks ted and jeff! the clear coat tends to take away from the luster of the polish tho.. thing is, aluminum oxidizes in about 10 seconds so as soon as you look away, it's protected by a micron-thin layer of aluminum oxide.

the build was a laborious one.. and far from done.. can't WAIT to start making he electric meter spin accompanied be the (LOUD) sound of AC TIG and plamsa zipping thru aluminum sheet!

a hit with nevr-dull is magic tho!

ted.. not reall crazy about the sync gauge.. give me an Hg gauge. i hate that you have to adjust these before syncing.. someone scred the adjuster in too far and screwed up #3.. it doesn't work at all.. can't do that with an Hg gauge..

jon.. i don't have skype ion this one homey.. i'd put it on, but i'm having some sorta odd memory issue.. the old computer finally blew up. lol
this one is FAR better, but i dunno wtf is wrong with the memory.

as far as the blockoffs, yes.. made those.. get me a pattern and i'll make you a set too.
