To those of us who live on a coast, this could be just a little scary. This is the storm surge from Katrina, taken from an onramp. view is looking across the industrial canal facing south.

I wasn't here for the surge but I have seen the aftermath and taken pictures of it. I was here very early in Sept. Spent a good amount of time in the lower 9th ward when the houses were still underwater. Here is one that's hard to believe. These were taken after the water was drained out.

I have a bunch of pics like that. Comercial fishing boats parked in yards. Houses parked on cars. The neighbors below ground pool parked in a yard. This place is a train wreck.
