it was the cars built before november of that year that had the problems. the second round of production, they fixed the problem. My bf has added the pulley and is easily over 500 horse. And this was accomplished w/just a 2.81 upper pulley, CAI, Borla Catback, and a tune.

i havent changed my pulley yet and i dyno'd 411 at the rear wheels. after the pulley changes and maybe a supercharger port i should be at 500.
love that car. 07 gt 500 is sweet too...but a lesson learned from the 03...dont buy first production runs...wait for the last...that is when i bought mine. some early cobra's had ticking problems. all of them had programming problems until 2004 lol

ok dude you need to leearn something that was an 04 gto which has the 5.7 liter, mine which is an 06 has the 6.0 that makes 400hp with out a blower that means n/a. so whats your point i beat 03 cobras all the time just because ford cant make power from the 4.6l unless they put a s/c on there motors isnt my fault. also if i put a s/c a kenny bell whipple on my car im well over 650 hp at 9psi. i will even post some vids of a 05 gto which has the same ls2 6.0 motor that mine does with the kb s/c so you can see what the goat is capable of. and if i wanted to i could go the 408 route and stroke my motor, cam, exhaust, headers, fast 90mm intake and tb, heads i would be in the 500-600 hp range n/a so dont give me the gto isnt fast. the only stock gto that was slow was the first year when they had the ls1 in them and they would run 13.4's to 13.7's stock. ls2 goat runs 12.9 to 13.1 so you need to learn something before coming here and giving me anything about my car because i dont have a 04.

hey now guys both cars are great.... different in ways that one uses big liters and the other uses a s/c to make power. point being anything cane be fast it all boils down to who wants to spend more money(usually). If we all cant have a genuine respect for other cars and their drivers, then we dont deserve to be in this sport. I'm a die hard ford fan... but thats doesnt mean I dont like a nova or a charger, I see past more then just the badge.... Ok I'll stop know b4 I get flamed for preaching, but I just dont like to see people fight over stupid ****... peace

Oh WOW! 6 liters and 400hp gah how do they do it. Last i heard you had only beaten one 03. Chevy can't make power without displacement. Your point? Just look back to the days of the 5.0 when Chevy ran the 5.7 and still got its *** handed to it. And i'll give credit where its due, the LT1s and LS1 Camaros and Trans Ams were hard to beat through the late 90s, but this aint the late ninetys and Fords back on top. GM can continue to scramble and copy Ford, (i.e. the Camaro originally and now the new retro design concepts) By the way idk about how much that goat puts down to the wheels stock but the Cobra was underated at 390. And you my ill informed friend need to learn something. 12.9 to 13.1 will get crushed by any decent driver in a Cobra. They run mid 12s. Theres no need to talk about I can do this mod and that mod and get this and that. Anybody willing to spend enough money can make any car fast that is not the question. I am simply calling BS on a stock 05 big bad 400hp rip tearing fastest car in the world with heads cam intake blower nitrous stroked and what the hell throw a turbo on goat being able to beat a stock 03+ Cobra. And just for ****s and giggles lets hear ya tell everyone how that car will blow the doors off of the 500 hp 4.6l 07 Cobra. Ha Humorous you are.

unfortunately cobras are pigs. heavy as hell. with exhaust,CAI and predator i dyno's 411 HP at the rear wheels. adding a smaller pulley will put me in the 430-440 range. a lot depends on how small i go and how good my tune is.
A good driver is key. Now plopping a whipple or kenne belle on there will put it way over 500hp. the 07 GT500 is going to be an interesing car indeed. but for the expected price of $60k+ from price gougers...i think i will keep my car. oh..not to mention it might be a good idea to wait for the next production run. ford likes to send cars out with known issues...they can always fix them later.
