KLX300 Cylinder, Piston, and Gasket Kit. Big bore for KLX250S
***It's sold***
I was planning a 300 big-bore swap for my '09 KLX250S, but for now I'm going to leave it alone. I've got a newly replated KLX300 cylinder, new piston kit & new gasket kit. None of it has been installed or run. This is a bolt on replacement for 1997 and newer KLX300R, and 2006 and newer KLX250S models.
-KLX300 cylinder, NiCom plated by U.S. Chrome, stock 78mm bore. NiCom is supposed to be more durable than the Kawi OEM plating, arguably a better option than sleeving. With the stock KLX300 bore, you can make use of widely available stock-bore components for any future rebuilds. $300
-Wiseco 78mm piston kit (piston, rings, wristpin and circlips). $120
-Cometic top end gasket kit (head and base gaskets). $20
I'd sell the parts individually at the prices above, or everything for $380 (shipping included).
In the last two pics, you can see some porosity pits in the plating. According to ALL of the replating outfits, this is common in replated cylinders and will not affect operation or durability in any way - it's cosmetic only. It's not holes through the plating, it's just low spots in the plating due to porosity in the aluminum exposed during the replating process. Thought I should make that clear, as it freaks some people out.
