I don't know I've never ridden before. By lesser, I mean it's a 600 but not crazy fast.. sort of like the Yamaha 600R vs the R6.. both 600, the 600R is much more beginner friendly.

Gottcha, am thinking on the same path now. Kinda sounds like you want the newer styling and is forgiving to ride. I was looking at the new 650 parallel twin. I liked the looks of it.........

Yes but the 03s+ go for upwards of 4k.. I only have about 3k to spend..

I've managed to hook a couple of spins on the SV650....and that little bike is like riding something on a rail! Just STICKS to the road and is pure, unadulterated FUN.
