I agree with everyone on here either you could lower your bike or just find one out there you can touch one foot down good enough to hold you up while stoped. I always just use one foot and keep my other foot on the back brake.
That's what I do on the 250 for the most part. Although at 5'9 I can sit flat footed, I find I feel like its more strongly supported on one foot with the right on the brake to keep it from moving. Also, if I'm not mistaken the 250's seat height is relatively high at 29 inches. The 650 I sat on at the dealer felt similar to the 250 and I am fairly certain that the kawi sport bikes have a slightly lower seat heigth than the 250. Honda sportbikes look like they are about as low as kawi, but Yamaha's are tall as I can barely hold up my GF's dad's YZF 1000. Just look up the manufacturer's website and they should have all of that info on there if you don't want to do major modifications.

The 250 has the smallest seat height of any sportbike. The 250 is about 29", most are 30.5-32".

well im pretty short too and with my 10r and im a quarter inch from five foot eight i can only touch the ground on my tippy toes and i find it fine if i were u i would not touch the suspesion on any bike it was made and designed the way it should be and your riding more than when stopped and when u have to back up with it just get off and move the bike i have in the past even though i got laughed at but it works and i think it will for u

Comfy with the ride and getting the balance is key whether it be one toe on the ground or both feet flat footed. No matter what weight the ride is. But get your sag set with you in your riding gear. It does make a difference.

Ninjagurl,
Hey I am like 5'3 on a good day I just got ride of my ZX7R Ninja (750), and the lowering links are only like $46-$70, the links are hella easy to put on yourself, I did it myself, and lowering the front end is way easy too, if anything you would just have to pay for one hour of labor ( about $100- $200) to get the suspen tighted to where it should be. So don't let you size get in the way of riding, as long as the bike is not to heavy for you, your good to go. Lowering is a snap only took me about 1 1/2 hour or so.
