i'm sure all the cleaner, materialistic hotties would come out of hiding tho.

and i'd get a japanese musclecar collection, bike collection, american car collection, and guitar collection going.

oh yes.

and i'd go around smackin chicks in the *** with a wad of $100 bills.

LOL i know man.. we killed this thread..

we love you!!

that will be part of the american collection.

may have a german collection as well.
a corrado and scirrocco,
R34 GTI
'88 golf with a turbo VR-6 swap
Audi A4
Porsches of all kinds..
i'd kill to get my hands on the LeMans car i worked on back in '02.. and LMP900 class Audi R8. aww man, i'd give my left ball for that thing. lol

but yeah, i think the american collection would be huge. there's too many i want.

Americans make the big motor muscle and i'm biased on that very much. i appreciate all sorts of cars tho so the german and jap stuff is pretty sweet in it's own right. there are a lot of things running around here in O that i've never even seen before!! weird exotics and classics, it's always a pleasure seeing the Ferraris and GT3 Porshes and stuff too tho

i'll always respect the fact that american cars really are what started the horespower wars we sometimes see today.

BUT, i think what separates them from imports is that american horsepower was made up of cubic inches, and not pounds of boost and uber efficient combustion.

yes, a turbo supra can make 1000HP all day long off a 3 liter motor, but the cars probably running 25psi and 274 cams.

i can get 1000hp out of a 600cid "mountain motor" on shytty pump gas with just a mild cam and playing with the timing a bit.

lol

i see it alot at summit point raceway.. theres usually a very mixed field on some track days and you'll see exotics of all kinds, and domestic and imports everywhere.. same with LeMans.
'Vettes cleaned up since forever, and the Ferrari, Porsche, and Panoz guys played hell trying to get the edge on em.
i met Boris Said and Ron Fellows a few times, but never really got to talk about the car or their style of driving.
i think tho, you coulda put ANY driver in that C5-R and they woulda won the race. it was just THAT brutal of a car. it scared ya it was so nasty. i remeber looking at th priceless crate motors they had as spares in their trailer. c.f. valve covers and feedhorns, 4 stage dry sump.. Lord knows what goodies were IN the motor.. lol

the NSXs and everyone else in the other classes (GT and GTS) just couldn't keep up, no matter what country of origin they were from. hell, even the saleen crew and the viper crewhad a hard time keeping up.
the only other car i saw that passed any of the vettes was the LMP900 class cars, and thats soley because of power-to-weight.
the 900's are (were? at the time..) restricted to a min weight of 900 kilos (thus the LeMans Prototype 900 designation) and 650HP.
i think 900 kilos as just under 2000 lbs? but yeah. the vettes had that much power, but a few hundred pounds more.

american cars are the originators of the musclecar, no doubt.

funny thing is, now that i think about it.. the cost of that Audi R8 i worked on was about 2 mil. i'd damn sure hope it'd be able to pass a modified production car!!!

haha just different styles i guess. i watched a few big races of the C6-R and those are just INSANE!!

everyone has their style and every country does too haha, i'm just a 'go big or go home' kinda person. applying the same technology to the american cars that japanese cars use to make 600hp 4cyl just makes crazy huge numbers lol. there is a 70 chevelle here in the local with an LSX and turbo using technology over pure brute strength and there is yet to be a dyno in the region to measure it! it's maxxed out every dyno it's been on so far.

man i love cars tho! regardless of brand/country, a sweet car is a sweet car.

haha it's street driven too. couldn't tell it's a racecar by the sound of it aside from the v8 grunt and the blow off.

i REALLY need to come out that way and check out that LeMans scene n especially the 'strange' aka ladies.
