Russia's new jet fighter

Deej - a T1 isn't all that anymore. For the money - you'd be better off with cable or dsl - yes, even at businesses and universities
Russia has been under the world's radar for quite a while. Little reported or known is the fact that they have been re-building to super-power status. All the attention has been on the middle east for the last 20 years, and south america. Russia would be a very good ally to have in the coming decade. Their economy is far stronger than it was at the fall of the Berlin Wall, and their military powers have had some dramatic technological advances, and their stockpile of modern warfare equipment has been surging for the last 8 years or so - everything from boats to subs to planes to ground equipment. It has all just been kept very quiet.
Do some searches on the re-building of Russia's military, and you will be surprised at what you see.

SRO hit it right on the nose. They have been slowly building up for a while. It isn't till just recently they have been getting attention. I think what put them in the spot light again was the test flights they have done where they would get really close or just cross into US air space.

I think that was the wake up call that got everyones attention, when they got there long range bombers back into flying status. They didn't just test our airspace either but quite a few other countrys as well.

Oh brother, more fear. The Russians and Chinese are so far behind us in the military-techno-industrial complex it isn't even funny. While we continue to spend billions on research and development (X times more than the rest of the world combined) which is fed by this BS propaganda our infrastructure (schools, hospitals, roads, etc.) suffer and are in a state of collapse. This unchecked defense spending and "our military technology will save us" mentality is out of control. The days of exotic fighters and bombers is over, the next war(s) is going to be just like it is in Iraq - door-to-door fighting with the basics of weaponry. You could have easily done the same amount of damage in Iraq using outdated WWII equipment.

And we would have lost 50 times the troops doing it! The bomber sortees had them on their *** before we ever drove a single troop into town. Modern warfare will always weaken the opponents defense, before ground troops go in. I think it's the best strategy.
I think any modern war short of all out nuclear war will begin with bombers, just my 2 cents.

Yea but the B-2 is what went in and knocked out Iraqs SAMs and other AA weapons so the B-52s could do there work. Otherwise you would have had a bunch of Dead B-52 pilots. And it was the same thing in the first Gulf War with the F-117s
