Ride and hunting report
Hey guys, well the wife and I went a mile east of town behind a DNR gate and took a ride. I wanted to get her riding more. Its been a couple of months since she has been on the bike, partly because we have been out of town a lot or other stuff has taken place of the two wheeled adventures. Anyway here are a few pictures of the area we went to, and some other interesting stuff. Didn't see a bear, but lots of deer and elk tracks. Found a couple of artifacts. One from the 1930's and the other from the 1970's. The road had some steep spots and a lot of loose gravel, and the wife did awesome. I know she was really nervous, but she did great.
We parked her bike here and rode mine up the road another couple of miles, then parked mine and walked another mile down the road.
Here is a shot of what the bears do to the Spruce trees around here. This is probably from last year.
Here you go, we're getting close.
Well she had her chance at me but I guess I'm safe for now
Walking back to my bike I would look down through the draws, and just 15 ft off the road I ran into this.
At first it looked like I found some sort of hatch like on Lost (awesome show on TV by the way) But it turned out to be the hood system for a shovel that was up there likely sometime in the 70's. The logging company must have just left it. Here is a picture I found of what this might have looked like still on a machine. Sorry the picture is so small, but the back end of the swing had a cover that was above the engine, the wire drums and the swing gear.
Then we walked another 100 yards or so and again 15-20 ft off the road I spotted through the trees, something that just didn't quite look right. A closer look revealed something that was truly amazing to see still in one piece. It is a steam donkey skid, that was uses in the 1920's and 30's. Here are a couple of pics.
Here is what it probably looked like in its day.
Well that's it. Thanks for stopping by.

Sounds like a fun trip, its cool that all that stuff was still back there, and I love the heat. doesnt get any scarier than a revolver with a scope on it.
Now FN gets to come in and tell you how hot your wife is. And for the record I would not disagree with his assessment. [sm=pimp.gif]

Yes, I can make it out without even squinting!!! I've probably driven through there at some point years ago, and 101 sure beats
I-5 for a scenic drive, thoughI-5's a little better in Northern California and Oregon and California than it is in Southern California. Looks like you're in a nice location midway between the Hoh Rain Forest and the coast. Some nice outdoor spots for having some fun and getting away from the rat-race.
Enjoy!!!

Cool ride, nice finds, I used to do the same thing with my brothers around here when we were younger (dirt bikes and exploring). Now were all on the road. Good times deej, and your wife is nice looking....especially with the gun
