Out here most Harley riders wave back to me on the ZX9... very few initiate - I usually have to... but when I do, I usually get response back...

Interesting... we do get a couple of nice ones but it's not often unless our friends are with us that have the harleys.

So far I'm 2 for 7 in the last 3 days on the Harley wave. I try to be nice and wave first. Today I threw down the low 2 and some Harley idiot looked the other way...I give up!

I don't even bother waving at the Harley guys anymore. They never wave back.

Damn. I don't get it... really - I expected that stereotype and segregation to be much higher in Chicagoland... but honestly - they all seem pretty decent... "2 wheels is 2 wheels".

Then again - the largest bike gathering of the year around Chicagoland is at the Toys For Tots ride, usually in the first week of DECEMBER. The majority of them are Harley's... but the turnout the last 2 years has exceeded 25,000 bikes. Yes, that is TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND bikes.

Hell I dont waive too much even when I'm on my Harley. I just let them wonder why another Harley rider wont waive at them. I like to think it confuses them.

i wave at fellow riders. but i ride dirt, and it's pretty divided between the trails to. i do the helmet nod to all. if youre first, you go up, if second you go down, no matter the machine. thats the friendly rider code. a wave if its a family group. and if its a douche youll go up with the lid and theyll return with a glare. theyre the ones you spray with rocks

once on a streetbike ill go by the 2wheels are 2wheels thing.

i try to stay civil with all.... cus once im uncivil people get hurt. and then the cops come... and theyre never any fun

Man I went to IHOP for breakfast a couple of weeks ago and rode my Fatboy. There was this guy sitting on his big ole Suzuki cruiser, he had assless chaps, finger gloves, and of course black everything with his 400 dollar sunglasses.
I parked right next to him, got off my bike, said hi, nice bike, blah blah blah just being nice. Then I noticed this guy was looking into the front window, cocking his head from side to side, and was totally admiring himself.
I think I just stood there watching him thinking WTF. I was waiting on some biker friends that was going to meet me there. Then this dude looked at me and said, you know your bike is really dirty. I said look Dousch Bag, that bike has covered 5000 miles this summer, and I have two other bikes that have probably covered that much as well. I ask him if he rides or just cleans his bike and try to look like a model in a gay punk boy magazine.
About that time all of my greasy lookin friends rode in and surrounded us with bikes.
A lot of dirty bikers, with dirty bikes. This dude couldnt leave fast enough. I now know the true definition of poser because this guy was the ultimate poser. We laughed at this guy all through breakfast.
