protect your eyes

RE: protect your eyes
I know what you mean! Nothing like riding along and all of a sudden this icky blob spreads across your visor. Good thing riding is so much fun or I wouldn't be out!
The local forum that I spend some time on is having this exact same discussion. Someone there actually mentioned that everyone should be thanking bikers for the number of bugs that we kill.

RE: protect your eyes
In CT there is no helmet law, which I think is stupid. I wear a full helmet. When I see other bikers pass by with those tiny helmet or not helmets... all I can say is..
"Yummy.... MMMMMMM Protein" [:'(][:'(][:'(]
My freinds make fun of mean saying how I want to date another bikers, but I am picky, he has to wear a full face. I don't want to meet up with him, smiling at me with bugs in his teeth..... Yuck!

RE: protect your eyes
Full Face Helmet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why would you NOT???? Bugs, rocks, sand, dirt, anything can smack you in the face. If a pebble can fly up off the road from a 4 wheeler and put a hole in another 4 wheelers windshield, just imagine what that same pebble would do to an eyeball. I prefer the clear lens also, and I wear sunglasses during the day if I need them. At night, no glasses, but shield closed. At stops, I open it to get some ventilation, but I can't imagine no lid on the highway, that's just foolish! I have been surprised by a flying twig or a small rock that has hit my shield and wondered where the hell did that come from, so my vote is definitely for HELMET on, HELMET SHIELD CLOSED.

BTW, Indiana doesn't have a helmet law either, but I still wear one even when it's 90 degrees out. Yep, believe it or not it does get that hot in Indy. Of course the next day it will be 50 degrees, but hey, what the heck, i can ride in 50 degrees!
