So it looks like there is was a defect in a batch of tires made. So far it only is for the front tire here is the article on it http://yahoo.reuters.com/news/articl...99590&type=
the recall so far is only effecting Pilot Power 2CT and Pilot Power 120/70 ZR 17 any pilot power with
a “Made in France” label
or
DOT 6UCW 980T or DOT 6UCW 979T on them are the ones being recalled.

RE: pilot power recall
I got the pic from a diffrent web site of a recalled tire. The problem is the tread seperating. Mainly on the 2cts the two componds are seperating from each otherthat why the center is missing.Oh yea they are replacing the tires free of charge and they are also picking up the tab to have the new ones mounted and balanced.

Yup they sure are but it will be like a month before they start getting good tires in. That is what Cycle Gear told me. You know I have a bad tire. They told me I could bring it in and that the had a regular PP in stock that was made in Spain. I want a 2CT not a reg. This tread issue has only had problems when speeds have been run over140 mph consecutively. But every day driving and commuting there has been no problem.

RE: pilot power recall
I'm waiting for them to recall the rear tire. When that happens I'm sure there are going to be a lot of burn outs before the tires are turned in. I know I'll be one of them doing it

RE: pilot power recall
I hope so. I just put a new rear on my bike. Got a nail in it last week. I did not even think about the recall when I was out hitting the twistieslast weekend. I don't think we went below 80 mph the whole stretch, Except when we came up on the troopers. Most of the turns we hit where marked for 25 to 30 mph. Damn that was fun. Then we came up on some long stretches and open the bikes up a little. Had mine hitting 150 on the straights. Oh and the ride on the interstate coming home was a blast 130 to 140 weaving through traffic. Still no problem with the front tire yet. I forgot to check it. I might do that just to see if there is any issues.
