Default My kid's first ride on a bike with a clutch!

We were out having dinner on Sunday and Christian's friend who has a Honda 100 and a TTR 225 asked me if Christian could ride the bike, I was a little nervous for him, but it was in a good sized field/yard. I was really surprised that he did so well. He took off using the clutch without any problem, and even stopped the bike without killing it. Looks like I really need to get on the ball about getting him a bike. I don't want to regret it later.

He's an average sized 12 year old, so I'm debating on either the Honda 100 or maybe a KLX 125....by the time I can afford to get him a bike maybe it will be a 2014 KLX 250

Aww Deej, go ahead and get him a ZX-14, or you are just going to make your very own kid a mole

Deej - A CRF100 or a KLX125 will be too small for him very quickly. I bought my son a CRF150F at 12 years old and it worked out well. After two seasons he's already test riding my KDX200 and the KLX250 but still enjoys his own bike.

You'd be better served to get you son a KLX140 or CRF150F.

I think you are absolutely right. I would rather let him grow into a bigger bike than be too big for a bike in just a few short months. That's why I bought him size 10 shoes when he was 5. "Quiet son, they will fit you in a few years." Thanks Mike, I will look at the 140 or the 150. I really think that a Honda would be cool to get him. That way we would have a, Kawasaki, a Yamaha and a Honda....red, blue, green
