Default My First Mountain Bike Race

I met one of my buddies there. What a blast. I rode just under 8 miles, it was raining the entire time, thank god i had a front fender, will be doing it again. Glad there was a creek to wash off in.

Hey!! Very cool!! Looks like a well-supported group! Fabulous cash and prizes, too!!! Great pics!!! (If you were riding in the woods, etc., I'm almost surprised more protective gear isn't required. Those little styrofoam bike hats don't protect that well against irregular tree branches and other pointy things. ??)

...Lube those hubs, chain, cables, and crankset. (I know you know that...)

Yes... that is my mission now. I actually want to take apart the crank and lube it, its making some god aweful crunching/grinding. Everything will get lubed today probably.

Yes the trails were very slippery. Hard pack and rain makes for some interesting riding. Got kicked all over the place by wet roots, never went down and took a soil sample though!

Looks like it was a lot of fun. What kinda bike do you have? I've done some trails locally, but nothing too seriously. I'm actually not even sure if my bike is made for intense mountain biking trails, but It's held up decently in the dozen or so times I've ate it.

I have a 2012 Trek Mamba. Its a decent mid level hard tail mtn bike. It does great. My last mtn bike was a trek and held up great for 10 years and i still sold it for 200$ So i had to get another trek. Love it.

Nice stuff. The only thing I would comment on is if the "Greenies" saw people rinsing off their bikes they would be all upset because of the silt causing the fish problems. LOL

Glad that you had a good time on the ride. Congrats
