its an 04 zx10r . im trying to learn about it... like most common mods, and basically what its worth because I traded a lifted jeep I had for it and my intention is to sell this one after I ride it a bit.

i believe this bike has had the sprockets changed. It accelerates like the space shuttle. I was cruising a long flat open piece of 4 lane road the other day and it hit the shift light in 6th gear at a shade over 162. anyone know what sprocket setup it is? i know they will go way faster stock but this acceleration is crazy.
new tires
fender eliminator, integrated turn signals

the guy i got it from told me he thought it should be 180ish hp to the tire... does that sound about right? (he builds turbo hyabusas so i figured hed know what hes talking about)

bike has some small scratches but nothing that is noticeable from 5-10feet.





also some folks have said 'oh thats the unrestricted model' or that was the fast year for those.

What is special about the 04's?

180 to the wheel sounds a lil low for all those mods... the 08'10r's have 182 @ the wheel.


i saw an 05 with an akrapovic pipe and chrome wheels alone goin for 6K. i think it had like 10,000mi. and that was at a dealer so i assume its pretty right...

 

sprockets: 17/39 stock, 162mph maybe 16/44 possibly. It is set up for the straights according to your info.
history of generator recalls for early 04 models.
There are a lot of First Gen followers because of the style and the wild power hits claimed. (Not my style since I prefer the second Gen 10r's)
180 hp is optimistic on the first gen stock engines and those that have been slightly massaged.
I think going rate for the First gens are in the $6k to $7k area.

Every bike and every dyno is going to be different. An 08 with slip on and not tuned went 155hp directly in front of my 163 tuned second gen at 4500 ft elevation. So they do have the potential. The First gens make less than the 155hp at this elevation normally. That is not carved in stone, just my experiences with the 10rs.

all ive seen is stats and a big list of mods, and used that to make an educated guess....
