deej, I know that that hand held jobby doesn't do street maps without buying the microSD card with the maps on them, but it did say it's got highways on there. Does it do any kind of course plotting without buying that map card for it?

 

Actually I'm not sure about that, because I got a copy of Garmin 2008 from one of my IT guys. It was like 4 gigs. I loaded Washington State on my machine right away. I'm using a 1 gig card and I still haven't figured out all the features on it.

 

I have a freind who has a GPS on his PDA and if it didnt have the map you could use lat and long and it would just point towards it and say how far away it is. not much good when your taking the little woman to her hair apointment, but functional for you offroad types. Perhaps your handheld has a similar feature?

 

deej, how difficult is it to read that screen while riding? I'm going to be making my order on friday and I'm just curious how difficult it is to see while moving.

Its actually pretty easy to look at, I mean all you are doing is looking at the roads that are ahead of you, using it for a breadcrumb trail and you can always stop and zoom in and out to see where you are and continue on your way. Just don't look at it so much that you don't see the guy that just stopped at the crosswalk in front of you. That would be bad. Dude I was just reading all of the back and forth flames Finger and I had a couple of pages back, sorry man, I guess I got a little carried away. And you must have over looked all of it because we are still talking right?........... Right?............. Finger?............ Anyone?[8D]

 

What mounting hardware did you need for it to put on your handlebars? I see several different things for "rail" mounting.
