yay! bike is back on the road. I still haven't messed with the carbs yet. but i was able to remove the lalternator magneto to get to the one way starter gear (flywheel) to replace that. replaced the gas tank that was dented and rusty with a fresh one that i painted a pretty closely matching red made by rustoleum , rebuilt the petcock so that it works properly again.

so while there may be a peice of rust in a float valve somewhere, i can atleast turn the flow off with the petcock.

can't post from work and i've been working on the bike and my house a lot.

i'll post a pic of the rust that came out of the old gas tank when i drained it.

 

thought you had a newer bike ?
