damn..

just heard about a fatal motorcycle wreck this morning on the bridge i cross on my way to work every day.

aperantly a box fell off the back of a truck - the car infront of the motorcycle slammed on its brakes. the motorcyclist with nowhere to swerve due to it being a 2 lane bridge with no shoulder remeniscent of mile long city overpass, hit the back of the car and vaulted over it only to get run over by oncoming traffic. i got to see the paint marks onthe road from where the police mapped out the accident and marked the body. Guy was in his early 20's.

I've recently decided not to actively tell my wife about local motorcycle accidents for fear that she will just worry about me all the time.

 

ouch, its always tough to hear about an accident, usually if they aren't wearing their gear or were riding recklessly we can take a lesson from it, but the hardest lessons come when the rider does everything he/she can to protect themselves and it just isn't enough.

 

Bummer on the crash today. But there are two sides of the coin when making safety first known to the woman. 1) You can get more gear and 2) You can then hit the tracks with no arguments!

 

well i had a bit of an accident og my own today - not on a motorcycle. i was wearing my safety glasses... and yes it hurts.. alot.. novocain wore off by the time they got around to stitching me up.

mangled the skin pretty bad - the doctor had to cut flaps of skin away to be able to stitch it closed. they are recommending that i consult a plastic surgeon.

 

A drill or tap explode on you koburn?

 

hi speed grinder blad bound and exploded sending the entire grinder into my face and down my chest where it finally tangled in my shirt and stopped.

 

lovely! A cutoff wheel or the grinderwheel exploded? I have not seen a grinder wheel bind yet.
