That is how I will be doing my hydronics for the shop floor. Solar with back up electric tank.

 

The coolest thing I ever seen was last week at a jobsite,this guy had an enclosed haulmark work trailer with a 110v small electric hwh and a circ piped to pex in his floor for radiant heat on site,he just runs a cord and lets it run and plugs it in at home at nite to keep his paint and chemicals from freezing.He even installed an inclosedcampertoilet in one corner with heat in the floor and walls.

 

wow, did not think of my trailer for that use. Good idea.

 

It was the first I had ever seen done that way,he just ran the pex and put down a floor on top of it, and the hwh looks to be only about a 10gallon unit.

 

hey all. I'm not dead...yet. Just busy. Spent a month in the bush had a couple days off now going to spend a couple weeks in the prairies....its effing cold here. Massive windchill too with no trees to block the winds [>:]

 

I hear ya bro, we got a heat wave going on now (+4, WC -12)but its been -20for 2weeks. anything above 0 and I'm practically sunbatheing. I know I'll regret this but how cold is it there?

 

Oh it was like -27 celcius the other day so like -17 f, plus whatever the windchill was. Can get to -40 pretty quick. Worst of all I took my truck in for an oil change, and the boneheads closed the hood on my heater block plug, deforming it. Luckily i was able to squish it back (sort of) to fit into the extension cord. That would have sucked trying to start a diesel this cold after a couple of days.

 

Always good, I got my truck this summer didnt even know it had a block heater tillI blew a head gasket. Somebody tucked the plug up in the engine compartment for summer. Good thing I found it too, it was -25 in your celcius and WC of -36 the other night
