So much more comfortable then the RC-51, the zx10 is like sitting on a sofa compared to the RC. The bike is silky smooth and the power so very linear and predictable. Then again I didn't take it over 8k rpm yet. The front breaks are not as good as the RC51 the rc had steal braided lines and wave rotors. The bike is much more nimble then the RC-51 but it doesn't have that awesome sound track the RC-51 has. Best of all no heat issues like the RC-51. Here are pics

nice....so just cosmetic stuff added then? screen, levers and blacked out front signals? What pirelli tires are those? thing looks brand new from these pics.

Replace the front brake M/C with the radial piston M/C and get the steel front lines asap.

The first thing I am going to do to the bike is the radial off a zx6 with steal braided lines then a speedo healer. The bike is re-reared. He when up 1 tooth for the rear so its not a big change but I still would like to have an accurate speedo. I'll get some more pics later today. Im not sure what pirelli tires they are I know they have diablo in the name but half the pirelli tires ahve diablo in their name lol. The mods on the bike are shorty CRG levers for break and clutch Akro carbon fiber slip-on K&N air filter, changed gearing +1 in the rear, power commander and the puig double bubble wind screen. The valves were checked and adjusted at the dealer when the chain and sprockets were put on. he had the receipts for the work. The bike has 4 little spots where the pain needs to be touched up. the story I got was the owner before the guy I bought it from let his brother side the bike and he promptly grabbed a half full of throttle and low sided the bike. From the look of things it seems like that was the case. The frame slider took all the damage. The fairings are not cracked and none of the tabs are broken. he sanded down the areas that were scuffed so he could repaint them but never got around to it. The engine case doesn't have a scratch on it. The guy I bought the bike from bought it in Nov of 2011 but his wife is pregnant and they needed extra cash so it was either sell the bike or his new corvette so he picked the bike. He put less then 1k miles on the bike since getting it in Nov and thats with the speedo error from the gearing. I picked the bike up for 3500

Hey az, the RC was never designed for comfort. It was designed to get Miquel DuHamel around the track faster than anyone else, and it succeeded for several years even against the Ducati's. OTOH, the 10 has had the luxury of several years development and refinement for racing, yes, but for street sales as well. The RC was a race bike for the street. (Yes, I've ridden the plywood-wrapped-in-shop-towel-seat of the RC before.) You're exactly right; nothing quite like the sound of an RC at full boogie. Your 10 looks SU-WEET. Congrats!!!

oh, the front calipers as well. No tokico's, they boil too easy. I was going to use a heat resistant shim at one time, never got around to it, went with the nissins and have not looked back.

don't mind jeff....the sound of a good running bike of any kind makes me drool

(....yeah, but the RC sound was kinda similar to a Britten. I saw the Britten race at Daytona. I'm not diss-ing the 10 at all. Inline 4's sound great, too. It's just the unique "throat" of the RC that puts a smile on my face. The Suzuki TL1000 was way under-rated as well, for that matter. Very similar torque grunt, if you've ever ridden either.)

The Britten was my dream bike back then, so was the VR1000. I never got to ride either one. sheesh, what is the world coming too!
