I would go to a salvage yard or put the word out to "your area parts network" as well as your post here, if you're budget is limited and you're shopping for OE. (What year and model is your bike?)
If you plan to keep the bike the rest of your life (or until the economy improves; whichever comes first) you will be looking at minimum $500-750 and 4-6 months for a hand-built brass/copper tube replacement rad. Something else to consider, the big name racer boys usually run custom rads and coolers. You might be able to score a high zoot rad from one of them. I would check with the track school gurus; Sportbike Track Time, Keith Code, etc., as well as the race organizations like WERA. This might sound far-fetched, but it's not. The big boys were all little boys once, and most don't forget that. You may need to attend a track day, WERA race, or otherwise do some kamikaze networking, but it can be done.

FWIW, I posted 3 links on Twitter to some excellent articles on lubrication, bearings, and gearbox principles found in three different issues of Lubrication Management & Technology magazine. Sorry to punt everyone over to my Twitter account, but it does save doing a back-issue search on their site. Good stuff on counterfeit parts, too; always be sure to verify parts at least on your cars and trucks, if not your bike(s). I will not make this kind of post again; I think it's inappropriate.
