ours went up a bit around thanksgiving, but have been mostly under 2 bucks since then,...luckily, i only get gas about once every few weeks...so i dont pay alot of attention to prices

 

Ours never went down much, oh sure Deisel went down from $3.38 to $2.79, but it's right back up there again, or on it's way, And we are supposed to be happy that the price went down to still a dollar more than it was a couple of years ago. That was one of the reasons I just bought my First New Bike ever, for the mileage. Man if anyone invents an engine that runs on air only, he is either going to be the richest person in the world, or the fastest assasinated dude in history.[sm=sigh.gif] So right now it's $2.85 yeaaaaaaa[sm=boosign.gif][sm=dontgetit.gif][sm=lame.gif]

It's funny that you mention that. For a little bit of history on how the internal combustion engine developed, I'll take ya'll to the days of Rudolph Diesel. Obviously, he invented the Diesel engine, but in his initial tests he ran it off of fuel developed from peanut oil by the use of transesterification. The time period is late 1800's to 1913. Keep in mind that this is the time of Petrol booms, Black Gold Rush and Rockefeller's rise to monopolistic power with Standard Oil Company. Diesel drowned in 1913 while crossing the English channel. Now, if you were John Rockefeller, and some crazy German scientist came into the scientific field with this great new invention that could threaten your market hold and there was very little chance of retribution, what would you do?

this is kind of like the work being done with the hydrogen powered cars...the only byproduct is water...and i hope that it does happen, as i will enjoy watching the middle east turn into one big ghetto...see how much they like the US then...when they arent rolling in billions of american dollars in oil revenue...

 

Does anyone else notice that as bushy was in trouble with all his peeps being indicted and the hurricanes and all the Iraq stuff, oil prices seemed to follow his approval rating and creep down slowly..... three weeks ago he attacked back at the democrats and set up a "plan" for exiting Iraq (which, by the way, is a load of C-R-A-P) his approval rating is slowly increasing again and, what a coin-ke-dink, so is gas prices...... isn't ironic... don't ya think.....
