First Ride on my new ninja!!!!!
#11
A big second on that. I got a mesh riding jacket I will wear when it is really hot and it makes a world of difference. Its got padding in all the important places but still lets the air in. I still would prefer to wear my leather jacket but when it is in the 90s and hotter I wear the mesh jacket. I think it would do pretty good if you went down while doing city riding, however I am not sure how well it would stand up to highway speeds.

looks like you had a good time on the new bike. you look pretty good on it from the pics you put up. And yeah it's worth it being hot with all of the gear on you never know when you might go down on the bike it it's not worth not wearing it

Yea - I totally don't mind being sweaty afterwards...it's worth it. I would never ride without gear on....never...seen to many things happen to friends. my jackets are both textile. I was wearing my joe rocket one which tends to be a little cooloer than my alpine stars one. Just ordered a new Icon one hopefully it will be better than my joe...
as for handling vs my 04' it was pretty stiff...which rocked. I was really pleased with it. I didn't go over 45 mph though b/c the guy at the shop didn't tell me what I could or couldn't do to break it in...so I went slow and kept the rpm's low....the only complaint I had is the roads are pretty bad in the one area I ride in and my old ninja seemed to deal with the bumps a little better...but that may get better with time. Great low end s well.

a good way to break a motor in...... POUND ON IT!!!! when my bike got a new piston, jug, head, and all kinds of stuff.... i did a wheelie out of the parking lot......hehe.... My dad was a mechanic his whole life and raced a 1969 nova, i asked him how he broke the motor in when he rebuilt it.... he said took it down the track no different than any other time.....
