Default "PLEASE"A Post Everyone Should Read

Hello all this is spooknick here i just wanted to tell you about a tragedy that happened this morning with me and one of my good friends. It was about this 12:30 this afternoon and me and him was at intersection getting ready to make a "left turn" instead of my friend waiting 2 or three seconds after the light turned green he took right off when this f****** **hole ran the light and hit him straight on. As a result he had 2 broken legs, ribs and his left arm, also suffered head and neck injurys "No Big Rig he did not have on any type of gear at all" a bunch of bruises on his face and body. Right now he is at Sanford Regional Medical Center in Florida in the ICU section.

I would like anybody that means anybody who dont ride with gear DO IT. Dont try to put your life in danger by trying to be a bada** I will say this my soul i look at everybody as my family i have not seen half of yall, but we are still a family connected by the love for motorcycles and anything with two wheels so when one goes we all feel sorrow "Even the SQUIDS out there" It does not matter if you have been riding 6 months or 40 years you can still go down like everybody else. so I say again PLEASE RIDE SAFE NOT STUPID.

PS. I Just wanted to shout out BIG RIG, MAD KAW, BLUEBIRD, LEMAC,NOTSTOCK AND SHON and anyanybody else on how to instruct and give people advice on how to safe.

THANKS FOR LISTENING

This is a post that could never be posted enough..... I feel for each and everyone who goes down or has gone down... for if it wasnt for them I would most likley be careless on the streets. We all need to take a minute and realize the potential danger of riding these invisible bikes on the streets, because to the average person that is what they see, or dont see. I hear alot that these post are good for noobs, no argument there; but I think it is also a good reminder to the ones that have been riding for some time now. I try not to get to comfy, always check for an escape, never and do I never think that the cagers see me. I am by no means a professional rider for I started riding just about a year ago, but these little tips got me out of alot of hurt or possably death.... Spooknick I'm just glad you and your budy are ok... He will be in my prayers and so will the rest of my KF family... Ride safe my brothers and sisters

sorry to hear about your bud spook but let me sum this up for all the newbs, squids, rookies, vets, pros, fastest 600cc sportbike riders of their retirement home complex. and big wheel riders out there.

DONT BE A ***. WEAR YOUR GEAR.

Your friend will be in my prayers as well and I hope he has a speedy recovery to his injuries.

Bad as it sounds here is a little legal advice, your friend should call and get a lawyer ASAP, do not try and deal with the other parties insurance company no matter how clear cut it seams or they make it out to be. Just like you should use a realtor to sell your home he needs an attorney to get all he diserves for now and his suffering in the future. I am sorry if this seems untimely but it is the truth. PM me if you have any further questions.

I have survived being hit by cages 2 times now, both at freeway speeds, and will never ride with out my gear. I am living proof of how much $1,600.00 is really worth.

Gear up and walk or limp away from it, only to ride again.

I'll keep your friend in my thoughts spooknick - I hope he is doing better and has a speedy recovery. And I hope that if he decides to get back on a bike - that his first purchase will be a good set of gear.

As for gear - I used to wear jeans. That is until I saw pictures of a guy here that crashed a few weeks ago. He was wearing all proper gear - except for pants. He was wearing jeans. Ever since then - I have been wearing my riding pants (granted, they're not leather but they are ballistic nylon with armour). I do not want my legs to look like his.

I cringe every time I see people going in shorts and t-shirts - makes me wonder about them! Funny though, cause when I was out yesterday - I had numerous people ask me if I was hot and uncomfortable in my gear. I said not near as uncomfortable as I could be if I didn't have it on. PLEASE WEAR YOUR GEAR

WEAR YOUR GEAR!!!!!!!!!!!! Iwent to the Dr. the other day with a tee on, had gloves, boots and lid . Felt like a tool but it was SOOOOOO hot here. Point is if it's too hot to wear your gear it's too hot to go riding, PERIOD!!!!!!!!! All I kept thinking about was what if someone doesn't see me making this left hand turn. Didn't feel safe at all [sm=signs006.gif] None of us can stress enough how important it is to protect yourself. That layer of leather, kevlar or what have you is the ONLY thing you have against the road, guiderail, tree, or cage. We can use all the help we can get!!!
