Angry CLUTCH LOCKNUT!!!!!!!! 1995 zx9r

i have opened my clutch in attempt to adjust the alternator chain tensioner. it sits behind the clutch components, so i have to remove them to preform the job. I am unable to remove the locknut holding the hub in place. So my question is, is the breaker bar not good enough, i used a 36mm socket with failure, only begining to strip the bolt. SO i dont know if im using the wrong tools, or if the bolt is loosened on a clockwise turn or counterclockwise.....please help. shame that aq stupid bolt is stopping my project.

Relax. My e-mail is down at work, so I'm scrambling to post wherever I can.
I checked the bible. No mention of the nut being reverse thread. Any way you can check the (hopefully) threads sticking out beyond the nut to see if they're reverse or right hand?

unfortunately there were no threads visible. all are gobbled up in the locknuts throat.

Have you fixed this yet? The easy way to remove the clutch hub nut is with in impact gun. 3/8" might do it but I always use a 1/2" impact. What year is your ZX9?

The original post states it is a '95

The manual does not say squat on the threads. Just to remove them and to use a holder. I am thinking standard thread, even though you mentioned that you are unable to verify the thread direction.

I have a 95 ZX9R engine sitting on my workbench right now. It's left-loose and right-tight. I use and impact with a 36mm socket and a gloved hand to pull the clutch hub nut as you see it in the picture.

If you have access to a welder you can take one of the old steels and weld a handle on it. Then use this in place of a gloved hand to hold the hub while loosening the nut.
