swaped tanks, now gas pours out Carbs
When I got the bike, the gas tank was beat up. Looks like a handle bar dent on left side. I found another tank, repainted and put back on. I didn't mess with anything else except tank & fairing. When I took it for a test ride it did great for about 2 miles then started running rough. I smelled like rich exhaust. Upon inspection, I noticed fuels pouring out carbs on the filter side. The bike runs great with out the tank on... but I can’t go too far that way.
Any ideas?

sounds like your carb floats aren't working, it could be that there was some contamination (rust) that got into the carbs bowls and is keeping the needle valve of one or more carbs from closing.

I noticed there isn't a petcock. just a diaphram with a pushbutton. so the floats should cut fuel off when bowls fill.allright... Fun Fun, sounds like i will be breaking it down. Can't have the garage smelling like a refinery.
Thanks

not familiar with your bike specificly so i can't say what he diaphram you are talking about is for. if you don't have a petcock you may want to look into adding one from a later bike like the late 90's zx6's

the inside of your carburators

if that link doesn't work then go to
http://www.cheapcycleparts.com/pages.../Kawasaki.aspx
and select ZX750-F4 Ninja 750R (1990) (that is your bike right?)
then select the part system you want.
