Default stiff throttle?

I noticed that it takes a good amount of effort to twist the grip on my 1991 zx7. I have checked to throttle cables and lubed them and they are fine. any suggestions?

So this start all of a sudden? Have you torn things down such as the grips, housing, the carbs?

The throttle doesn't snap back at all unless I force it back. But the problem seems to happen after I just start to tighten up the throttle housing screws. then the throttle gets super sticky. But even so it's always been a stiff throttle even If I leave the housing screws loose

cable and spring issue. The cable should snap back on decel without issues. Unless you placed some grips on her and those are rubbing which would also cause lack of spring back.

I may have a solution for you. When I bought my bike, the return cable was broken. At that point, my throttle was fine. After I replaced the cable and adjusted it, I also installed bar ends. I then noticed that my throttle was tight and not releasing properly. I loosened the housing, it helped but I knew it wasn't right. Anyway, at the end, figured out that my screw for the bar end was too long and expanding on the throttle. I just put a washer behind it and it works perfect. So, if you do have bar ends, try too loosen the screw to see what it does. If not, unhook your cables and see if they move freely inside the tubing. Sometime they get kinked and jam up inside. Hope this helps.

Okay guys I found da problem,
What happened was the throttle cables were mis-adjusted. I'm the kind of rider that likes the least amount of throttle freeplay(without making the engine accelerate while turning the bars of course). On my two previous bikes, I adjusted them tighter than usual and did not run into any problems. But on my zx7 my throttle was sticky and would not snap back. So I slacked the throttle cables a little bit and problem solved. But thanks for all your guys' inputs i really appreciate it!!!
