Hello fellow ZX7 riders,
About how many miles are you getting on your bike on one tank of gas? and how full do you fill your tank?I have ran out of gas once and then had to swith to the reserve once also. Just looking for a little input... this not having a gas gauge is giving me fits. I know its a newb question but hell i have only had the bike for a week and have been riding motorcyles just as long...

On a hard ridden tank can get about 130 miles a tank before turning the reserve on. Usually get about 38 miles to the gallon. And I fill the tank up all the way to the top.

On an easy ride of 80mph (gauge reading) hwy, I filled up every 180 miles. With the sea level jetting.

 

sounds about right - I seem to recall hitting reserve at about 150 on my 93

I can usually get to 170 on the zx9 before having to go to reserve... average about 38 to 42mpg

 

how big is the typical reserve on a bike?????

 

I am thinking around .8 to 1 gal approx.

 

Yeah, I think a gallon extra.

 

mine is a freaking hog!! I can't even get 100 miles. I'm topping off the tank and it's happened on several occasions that I'm reaching for the reserve switch at only 75 miles. It seems like it holds about 4 gallons when totally dry. I've been stopping to put gas in when I get around 65-75 miles and usually add between 3 - 3.5 gallons. WTF
