I have a 2001 ZX-7 and I can't find anywhere on it where you put the buckles of a helment on when you go somewhere and lock your helmet on the side of the bike. Most other cycles have it on both sides just under the passenger seat so that you can put your helmet on the hook and then lock your passenger seat of it so that the helmet just hangs on the side, but you can't get it off without opening the passenger seat. Does anybody know where if any these hooks or anything are on this model?

I can't find anything at all under either of the seats. Is that the area you are talking about? I had others look also and nothing.

 

under your rear seat you should see a black hook on each side. I have a 2003 and it came with two hooks yours should be the same.

 

Under, as in if you take the seat off or under as in under the whole thing by the rear tire?

 

sorry I should have been more specific...when you take the passenger seat off you should see a black hook on each side to hang helmets on. I am beginning to wonder if someone took them off your bike...why is the question?

 

my 02 doesnt have em so i'm guessing they took mine off too then

 

I have not clue why someone would, but it's pretty stupid. I already rigged up a little hook that I found that does basically the same thing, it's just not attached to the frame.

 

I do not have any pics of my 7 rear seat, but here is a pic of the 06 10r rear seat. Note the plastic molded tabs in the seat next to the black straps, those straps could be used also. I am trying to remember what my 7's looked like with no success! lol

 

But the point is to put the actual buckles on the hooks so that your helmet is basically locked on your bike. Cause if you just strap your helmet around anything like that all you'd have to is unsnap the strap and take it. The thing is, I can't even find any spot where there would have been hooks that wouldn't have been in the way of the bottom of the seat.
