Finally got my Muzzy

RE: Finally got my Muzzy
another guy I talked to said he did 2.5 turns. So I might start at 2 and adjust from there. I have the stock needles and springs as well. I am pretty sure I used two shims but I will doublecheck. Again thanks for your help!

RE: Finally got my Muzzy
The kit came with springs but no needles. Someone else told me factory makes titanium needles for the 7 kit. But I ordered the kit from one of my catalogs not direct from FP. I will probably call them this week and have a chat with them too.

My asking is only because I still do not use a kit on the 7. I pressed my shims, was happy with the stock needles more or less, and had good results most of the time lets say. Actually still run the stock spring also on the cv carb. For one track only of course.

dragone and srobak my hubby and I are about to put everything back together and test her out tonight...hopefully adjusting the screws will be the ticket and I will wake up this beast. oh and dragone it turns out we only had the needles shimmed .5mm so we adjusted that too. I 'll be back on here in about an hour to report.
Thanks guys!

RE: Finally got my Muzzy
update: alright when we first adjusted the screws we noticed that 2 &4 seemed really tight and 1 & 3 seemed really loose. so we backed off the tight ones 2.5 and tightened the loose just to back them out 2.5.
next we checked the shimms (I only had the needles shimmed .5mm) so we added 2 to get to Muzzy's recommended 1.5mm.
third we took it for a spin
result low and mid range sucked!!! the bike felt like it would not pull. fell on it's face basically
high end past 8K it pulled really hard.
Attempt #2 we readjusted the screws by tightening all of them as hard as we could then backed them all out 2.5 turns again.
result pretty much the same although it started to pull better at about 7K instead of 8K
Tomorrow night we will resume working on it...we are thinking about taking the shimms out all together and keeping the idle screws where they are for now
anyone have anything to add? I would love to hear some input, thanks!
