hey everyone, new to site! i have a 92 ZX7R i've brought back to life . i'm completly done and want to do more. would newer ZX7R brake calipers fit onto my front forks?by the way great site its been alot of help

 

Welcome to the forums. Congrats on your quest. My first question would be as to why change out the calipers?

 

well i was tryin to think of a way to get the 3 pot calipers on, but i'm not sure, how. and i would like some more stopping power

 

What is wrong with your stopping power now? Not sure on the history of the '92 stopping power issues, but I have a '90 and it stops well. Stock Tokico calipers, SBS pads, braided lines and the stock Nissin M/C.

 

yea i have braided lines to. its just when ever i stop it feels like the back tire is fish tailing a few inches . i'm not sure if i'm braking to hard or the rear or somethings wrong

 

Ya got me on the 3 pots, but you still asked for more stopping power. The 7 should have 4 pots and they are pretty good imo.

Now this, have you set up your suspension for the tires and the frame geometry? What are you running for tires and suspension? Stock? What are the spring rates? Were they changed during your suspension setup or are the stock springs ok? The front is diving on you from the brief sounds of it.

 

it was bad before but i switched out my rear suspension for a 98 ZX7R suspension, witch was a MAJOR noticable up grade. i have michillen qualifyer tires.

 

How do you get your hands on qualifing tires from michelin? So you are a racer I take it. Even then, you have better sources than I do thats for sure.
