nope... no butts ers or flys.

the e.g.a. said it was just a tiny bit lean on the mains but maybe a size up on the pilot would help it too (no, i wasn't just saying that the pilots affect the main circuit)... it is most lean on the pilot circuit. so, maybe if i make that one last adjustment it will be even more rideable. you see, when i originally posted this thread the bike needed a valve adjust and carb synch... now that that has been done the boggyness is less of an issue for me... after a year i'm used to it and already feel like a poser for even thinking about putting regular zx7 carbs in the bike.

walight... are you sure you still have the flatslides? but, yeah, they are probably just newer.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Carbu...spagenameZWDVW

here is a set of stock carbs, identical to mine.

now this is based on my type of carbs, if your lean through out the prms, id go up in the main jets, like if you had say 130 size jets, i'd probably try 140 and see. If you just lean down low, move th eclips down to make it run richer.

dude, not trying to be an *** but, i did go to MMI... i can adjust my carbs... just not synch them at the moment from lack of a carb synch tool. and figured, while i'm at it... i'll just have him do a valve adjust too.

i didn't say the main was too lean... it was nearly dead on... just a teeny bit on the lean side. the only adjustment i would make is the pilot circuit which is just a bit more lean but, well w/in range of normal.

thanks for the link.

also, your estimate is way off on how much to adjust jetting... small increments.

130 to 132 rather than upping it 5 jet sizes (unless they make mains in odd numbers too, i can't remember... then it would be 10 jet sizes). that is unless it was extremely lean but, having jets that far off should make the bike run very poorly.

not trying to argue just clarify ... thanks walight

just looked at that link walight... the pic leaves a lot to be desired but, it doesn't look like those are flatslides. can anyone verify if they are or aren't?

I just misunderstood your lean problems. I thought you were alot leaner than you were, thats why I said do the drastic jet size swap. I wasn't sure of you background so i go into detail when explaining anything so I don't have to do it again how did you like mmi? what are flatside carbs? maybe that can help me tell you if i have them or not.

MMI was a great experience... hands on and good instructors. the few years i did in the shop afterward were a must even after school... that way i got the best of the 10 grand. i only did the 1yr tech program without any of the specific brand classes. i think each one of those is a few thousand apiece.

flatslides are just what the name entails... instead of a cylinder or half cylinder for the shape of the slides, they are flat. (so, instead of a cylinder with wings passing through the main chamber of the carb it is just a wall.

here's a pic or two.
