Default 94 Zx7 - Rough Idle after oil change and plugs

Can't figure it out. I changed the oil, changed the plugs and put it all together. Bike starts great but after a few minutes it starts to run rough and dies. Will restart with a bit of throttle but dies. Also, the bike is hard to shift into gear from neutral.

Tried running down all the vacuum lines, inspected the fuel filter, all seems good. Any ideas?

most likely its the plugs - what kind did you get and did you check the gap to make sure it was correct before installing them?

when a problem starts its usually because of the last thing you did.

I'm thinking the plugs should be NGK CR9E or if you get the iridium it would just be CR9EIX

Should they come pre-gapped from the box or do I need to gap them? What gap?

Thanks again.

even the ones that claim to be pregapped tend to be off from bouncing around inside the boxes during shipping. pick up a haynes manual (usually 11-13$) it should have the gap info along with other useful maintanance stuff

Excellent advice. The plugs were the wrong type. Got them changed and gapped. The factory gap was a bit tight, had to open them a bit.

Thanks everyone.
