39mm flatslide Carbs
Hello all, kinda new to the forum. Anywho here's my question, I just bought a set of 39mm flatside carbs as the latest addition to my 92 zx7. Does anyone know if the regular peckcock will work ok with them, or do I need a high flow peckcock? and if so where can I get one?
Thanks

hmm, welcome to the forums.
Not really sure. Flat slides work well, but you are increasing carb bore size with a stock engine? Am not too familiar with the 92 so mostly questions here. Straight line, it will work but not without some engine tuning. From what I know of flat slides, a loss of or a dip in the tp curve happens around the 3-4k rpm range.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the petcock on your '92 is vacuum operated. Fuel was forced into the carbs from the vacuum from them. If your flatsides are FCR's, you will need a free flowing petcock, like a Pingle. The flatsides have a pump the moves the gas.
I like the "rattle" sound from flatsides.
