zx6r stalling when warm
Hey guys, I have a problem that i cant seem to figure out. My 2000 zx6r starts up perfect and runs great while it cold and even right up to temp till it reaches a point where when u go to start off it stalls. It does nto do it all the time though. It does it at different temperatures and totally radom times. the funny thing is when u put it in first and u go to leave the clutch out it will start to pull but when u leav ethe clutch out and give it gas it shuts down. Also if you have it out while its still cold and give it gas it goes great but once warm and you do the same thing it will backfire and shut off unless you pull the clutch. You can sit there and rev it forever in neutral and as long as u have theclutch in even right after it fails to move. Do you think it is a fuel related problem or electrical? I really need somones help! Thanks

first check to be sure your getting spark, next check the fuel, do you have a manuel choke on your bike ? check that if it applies. i dont know if the 2000 models are fi or carburated. if its carbed it should be easy to track down the cause.

Sounds like you have some water in the fuel and at the bottom of the carbs. Drain the carbs and add Heet Iso to your tank. First try draining your carbs. There should be a drain screw at the bottom of each float bowl

It takes a little while for the water to settle to the bottom; usually overnight. Sometime you get water in the gas from the pump also.

Wow, it must have been a flakey switch, otherwise it would be obvious. Good check! Nothing like an owner figuring out their own bike. I can always figure out my own stuff no matter how strange but can never seem to help others.
