Is this worthed? 06 zx6r for $5,400
So I found an ad on Craigslist Sacramento for a 2006 zx6r
-clean title
-under 4k miles
-supposedly well maintained and good condition.
-comes with shoei helment and factory warranty.
-i think all stock and no mods.
-asking for 5,400, originally posted for 7k obo (which seems su****ions to me)
-reason for selling "hates to sell but doesnt have time, plus hes moving to a new home and would love to get rid of it by then"
I pretty much need to know what questions i need to ask the seller, and what to look out for.
My concern is, I dont know exactly how much used zx6r's are worth now a days. kbb says they are worth just below 4k. What do you guys think?

You should be able to get that kawi cheaper than 5,400. Back when I had my 06 kawi 636 I only paid 4,800 for it with under 2k miles and I ended up selling it for 5,000 with 8k mi. Unless this bike is in immaculate condition I would negotiate a lower price for the bike.

Welcome to KF!
5400 is a good starting price. The 636 has been going for a premium since the 07's came out so expect to pay more than KBB, I would say 5k is a good price but in sac you may have to pay a little more. Take a look at the bike, but more importantly take a look at the rider. If the seller seems like the kind of person you would let ride your bike or drive your car then go for it, after all he has been riding it for 4 years. If you wouldnt trust him with your ride, treat it like a stuntbike (dont buy it). The bike scene is huge is sac, so dont be afraid to walk away, there will always be another deal. Good luck, let us know how it goes!

It all depends on the condition of the bike, and who you are buying it from. If you show up and you notice a lot of parts and plastics lying around, ask if the bike was used as a track day bike. The nice thing about the ZX6R (636), is that it was not eligible for racing classes. Ask where they bought the bike. Did they buy it new from a dealership? Was it there first bike? If it was their first bike, there's a good chance that the bike is barely broken in, and should have a lot of life left in it! I don't think the price is too high at all. Check that the tires, brakes, plastics, engine casings etc.. are in good condition. Ask them if it has ever been dropped or crashed. If you want to play, you've got to pay! Remember, everyone selling something has a bottom line price in mind. If bills are piling up, and they need the money, make him a low offer, and see what happens. If it's love at first site, and the seller seems like an honest, decent person, pay him, and have fun! Good luck!
