improvised the stand and got it back into 1st gear by moving the wheel back and forth till it shifted - just pushing on the shift pedal with my hand no forcing it.
i can do 1st and neutral same as normal now. should i be able to get it into 2nd on the stand with the engine off?

okay dont understand why but unless im all but at a complete stop i cannot put it into neutral can you tell me why when i try to push it lightly at like 15-20 it will just pop into 2nd.

Merdox im right there with you. neutral is a piece of cake while rollin. i can hit neutral from 2nd down to first and also from 1st up in to neutral. it happens alot when im not wearing my riding boots. my tennis shoes flex to much and im so when i shift up into 2nd i miss the gear alot. (hope that makes sence)

Re-adjust your shift lever down a little and it may not happen anymore. I had the same problem a couple of times until I adjusted the lever.
