Just wondering what u guys think im tired of spending all that money on motorcycle oil so I went and bought some castrol GTX and a filter, the bike has 5k on it, I plan to change it again at 2k with the GTX and 2k after that get some castrol syntec and a filter.

 

I would just run the full synthetec now. You would have no problems. There is a thread somewhere on here about this. Some people use car synthetic and some don't. But no one has had any problems with the car synthetic. You can run full synthetic after 1000 miles.

 

Speedracer has the same bike and I think he uses the car full synthetic.

 

Just don't use a detergent oil. Look at the back for the marking.

My friend uses cheap conventional napa car oil for $1.49 a quart in his 2005 zx10r race bike. Just changes it after every race weekend.

 

I have used Valvoline Motorcycle oil at first, then switched toValvoline Synthetic Car oil &Mobil 1. They are all good. I have some Motulor Repsol Full Syn for the next change. The bike has almost 12K on it and I'll be changing the oil, filter and installing race cams in it & checking/adjusting the valves. Basically a tune up.

 

I'm using Castrol GTX in both of my bikes. If I switch, I'll go with amsoil synthetic.

 

I ran and changed oil after every track day using the Castrol with no issues (zx7). I broke the 10r in using castrol then switched to amsoil motorcycle 10/40 synthetic. No issues either.
