RE: weird noise
Didn't evil say he redlined the crap out of his bike in every gear the second he got it?
Someone posted a link about this guy who says to race the crap out of your bike when you first get it, and (for lack of a better word) f--- the manual break-in procedures. Me thinks it was in an oil thread, good link... I'll see if I can find it.
Found it! http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm
dcorlando posted it in this thread : https://www.kawasakiforums.com/m_65445/tm.htm

RE: weird noise
I have under 600 on mine and it does make a metalic sound even at highway speeds/rpms. It's got to be nothing.
Side note - I love the way this bike pulls! I don't have time to stare at the tach (never did watch the tach much) but I can definetly feel when it goes over 9k rpm because it really starts to pull. Yea, I'm not worried about a break in period much. I mean I do the maintenance but I don't worry about high revs with low mileage.

Lots of different opinions on the break-in procedures. I say have some sense and don't redline it the first time you have it out but 35-40 will get your a$$ run over around where i live. I rode mine up to the speed limit takin it easy and haven't had any problems out of it.

RE: weird noise
Your buzzing may be from just normal engine vibration causing the fairing or other parts to buzz. You'll have to ride it and listen to pinpoint the area it's coming from, then put your hand on it & apply pressure to see if it stops. Also check & tighten your hardware as necessary. I get a buzzing at certain RPM's and it just seems to be harmonic resonation; when all the spinning parts get to a certain frequency. Unless it's making a rattling or knocking sound, it's probably normal.
