Valve noise

RE: Valve noise
I checked my valve lash the first year of racing and found a lot of loose adjustments. Actually during the first 3 months of racing. I re-shimmed where needed and things were good. No noise. This was on a 7 though. My new 10r sounds like a ticker tape machine at the moment also. I will give this one a few more miles before I tear into her also.

Just an update. I finally got the bike to the shop. It was an awesome 80 degree day and the 40 miles to the nearest Kawi dealer was one of the best rides I've had in a while. Anyhow the service manger listened to the bike and told me that it was normal and not to worry about anything until it was time for it's next service. Needless to say I was stoked on the 40 mile ride back home. Thanks to everyone for their input and advice. Ride safe.

Damb811: You got a typical dealer answer, not sure what bike you have but mine hade a lot of nocking noise and I replace the chain tensioner and it took away all the noise. 85.00 part and about .5 hours to install.

I have a 2002 ZX6R. I ran into a guy the other day with the same bike (only his was red) and it sounded exactly like mine. You found that changing the timing chain tensioner got rid of it though?

Hey how was it doing the valve job, I have not done mine yet and have been nervous about it. In the manual, it looks complicated.

One of the nice things about having just recently moved to North Carolina. I used to live in the Syracuse NY area and the bike would've been in the garage for at least another month.
