Default RE: undertail exhaust

The only ones I know of are the hotbodies ones with the undertail and the exhaust in them... Owning an 03 636 I had thought about getting the kit with the exhaust but I'm glad I didn't. I haven't heard many positives about them. I hear they melt the plastic, sound like crap (well I know this one for a fact) and various other problems. I purchased just the undertail kit and I didn't think it met my standards, it didn't fit flush, didn't install easily. To this day there is still a space that drives me nuts that I'm sure I'm the only one that sees. Just my $.02...

By the way welcome to KF

I personally love the LeoVince... I have a slip-on highmount and I love how it looks and sounds. I used to have a reg mount LeoVince when I bought the bike new and traded it in for the highmount. The only thing with highmounts is that they are not as good as the reg mounts as far as performance goes. I prob loose out on some power because of the extra bends but I don't care, it looks better and the bike is fast enough for me!

sorry man i read the post wrong, i thought you had the 05-06, i know i have seen a comapny out there that make the undertail exhaust for the 03-04 but i will have to do some research to remember who it was.

another idea is to get a subframe from an 05-06 and have it modified to fit. then it should be pretty easy sailing from there

I have the 06 hotbodies undertail exhaust. First attempt, I melted the undertail since the exhaust sits almost right on it. Called hotbodies, they sent me a new tail piece for free with some extra heat shielding. I went to autozone, wrapped the exhaust with header wrap, and ive never had a problem since. As for the fitment, I would call it 100%. It actually looks stock. I love it. Cost me $700 though. Also got a re-dyno, added 6 hp.
